Because of the financial crisis, and its effect on writers and artists, I’m happy to offer a 3-month coaching scholarship. I’ll coach the winner on memoir, nonfiction, novels or short stories twice a month, including written feedback and phone consultations, a $900 value. This is a full-scholarship and will not cost the winner anything. I am passionate about helping writers find and nurture their authentic voice.

To apply, please send a one-page, single-spaced essay on why you deserve the scholarship. Describe your life, mention your job, discuss your commitment to writing and explain why you would like coaching. On a separate sheet, provide three references. Do not send more than these two sheets of paper. Please follow these directions carefully. I will be looking for passion and commitment to the writing process, as well as financial need. Email only two documents to carolineallen@aol.com. I will narrow submissions down, and choose randomly from the remaining applicants. Please no follow-up emails or phone calls.
