" A woman must have money and a room of her own to write fiction (or do any kind of art)." -- Virginia Woolf
How much space do you give to your art and writing? Do you allow yourself to take up space? Do you give yourself plenty of time in your week, which is another form of space? Do you create with your best energies, or do you wait until you’re tired? You have the right to take up space, to be seen and heard. You have the right to sing the song of your soul. This isn’t just a right, but a duty in this time when all women must stand up and be counted. Here are images of my yurt art studio in rural Oregon, U.S., a gift I gave myself for my 50th birthday.
